Stemotics is excited to announce our FLL pre-qualification program that will prepare students for the 2023 First Lego League competition. Starting in March and running through the end of June, this program will build students’ skills from the ground up and equip them with the knowledge and experience necessary to excel in the competition.
The program will cover a wide range of topics, including robot building, programming, teamwork, problem-solving as well as building skills on how to present and pitch ideas. Classes will be led by experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. The best students will have the opportunity to qualify and participate in the First Lego League competition from Stemotics, representing the institution and competing against teams from all over Canada.
The program is open to students of ages 9-14. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced Lego builder looking to take your skills to the next level, this program is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and pursue your passions.

The objectives of the FLL pre-qualification prep program include:
- Explore the basics of various Lego Education kits and their components with a focus on the Lego Spike Prime Kit
- Introduce students to the basics of robot building and assembly
- Cover basic coding concepts using Scratch based block as well as text coding
- Progress to advanced robot building techniques, such as incorporating sensors and advanced mechanics
- Cover advanced coding concepts such as loops, conditions, and variables
- Teach students how to meet competition objectives and present their work effectively
- Provide opportunities for students to apply their skills and knowledge in the First Lego League competition
- Encourage creativity and innovation through open-ended projects and competitions and enhance understanding of STEM concepts through hands-on learning and experimentation
- Provide mentorship and guidance from experienced instructors to help students get ready for the competition.
Program Schedule:
- Sessions will be held every Sunday, starting 1st of April and will end on 24th of June.
- Each session will be Three Hours long.
- Session starts at 10 am.
Program Cost:
- $150 plus HST per month
